All Creatures Great and Small to return

A new adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small, filmed on location in Yorkshire, is due to be broadcast next year on Channel 5.

The airing of the six-part remake will mark the 50th anniversary of the original publication of ‘If only they could talk’, one of the much-loved James Herriot books by Alf Wight.

The series is being co-produced by British TV firm Playground and Masterpiece, an American company.

Colin Callender, Playground’s chief executive, said: ‘Revisiting James Herriot’s beloved stories is an immense privilege and we are honoured that Alf Wight’s family have entrusted us with his legacy. It is a responsibility we take very seriously.
