ESCCAP UK & Ireland was recently alerted to a case of leishmaniosis in an untravelled dog living in the UK. A three-year-old fully vaccinated male neutered English pointer was presented to the Vets4Pets practice in Braintree, Essex, on four occasions between February 2016 and September 2017.

The dog was suffering from dermatitis and alopecia affecting the axillae, thighs and paws. Treatment was successful with a chlorhexidine shampoo and tailored diet. Suppurative and …
