‘Let’s give vets’ mundane work to nurses’

Simon Innes, chief executive of CVS, has declared that vets are underpaid. But, he says, increasing their pay is not a sustainable long-term solution in itself.

Speaking at the Animal Health Investment Europe event, he said: ‘We are paying our vets 10 per cent more than we were this time last year. It’s like any profession – bricklayers or electricians – if there is a shortage, salaries go up.
