When considering effective control measures for badgers for bovine TB (bTB), only badgers that can be cage trapped (40 to 70 per cent of a population, 30 per cent of which may already be infected with Mycobacterium bovis )1, 2 can be vaccinated against M bovis by injection. Not all uninfected vaccinates will become immune.
