No scientific basis to homeopathy?

Contrary to the assertions of Martin Whitehead and colleagues(VR, 28 July 2018, vol 183, pp 135-136) there is only one law in homeopathy: ‘Similia similibus curantur’, that is ‘Let likes be cured by likes’. This principle dates back to ancient times, but its use was formulated by Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). The phrase led to the coining of the word ‘homeopathy’.
