Veterinary educational website, WikiVet, has teamed up with the International Veterinary Students Association (IVSA) to organise the first 24-hour marathon of veterinary teaching across the world, presented by universities in the UK, Australia and the USA. The programme focuses on areas where students feel they would benefit most from additional teaching; the event is also open to qualified vets.
Starting at 01.00 GMT on Saturday, 10 March, students can access the whole programme for free or select the sessions in their time zone.
Live webinars will be available online, with eight hours streamed from Australia, eight hours from the UK and eight hours from the USA. Speakers will cover a wide range of clinical and non-clinical topics, including anaesthetic emergencies, gut disease in rabbits, equine lameness exams and personal wellbeing. The online sessions will be enriched by interactive polls and question-and-answer sessions.
The three institutions taking part are the Centre for Veterinary Education (CVE), University of Sydney; Royal Veterinary College (RVC), University of London, and VetMedAcademy, USA. Registration for the event is at www.wikivetlive.com
