January is, unsurprisingly, the month to change your diet and routine. One initiative that has taken off recently is Veganuary – where people pledge to eat a vegan diet for the whole of January.
The first Veganuary started in 2014, but it was last year that the movement really took off with 60,000 people taking part.
According to research commissioned by the Vegan Society in 2016, the number of vegans in Britain has risen by 360 per cent over the past 10 years. While this represents less than 1 per cent of the UK population, there is a feeling that it is becoming a more popular choice.
