Next week (14 to 20 May) is Mental Health Awareness Week and this year it focuses on the theme of stress.

You may be fortunate to work in a practice where supportive events such as yoga or mindfulness sessions are already planned but, if not, there are things you can do yourself.

This week the BVA is encouraging members to reach out to colleagues and discuss issues that are worrying or causing them stress.

There is a need to reach out, says the Association. Its Voice of the Veterinary Profession survey found that nearly half of vets surveyed (44 per cent) were unsure whether they would be able to recognise signs of mental ill health in a colleague. …
