Caution against antibiotic course changes

VETS should not make any changes to the duration or dosage of antibiotic prescriptions, at least until further evidence is provided to support changes to prescribing advice.

That is the advice of the BVA, following the publication of an analysis piece in the BMJ last week, which questioned the validity of currently accepted guidelines for completing antibiotic courses.
