HAVING used, and recommended to others, previous editions of ‘The Veterinary Book for Dairy Farmers’ throughout college and during my career, I was pleased to be asked to have a look at the fourth edition.
From the outset the author, Roger Blowey, agrees that well-run large units with highly trained professional staff have the capability to provide excellent conditions for livestock. Published data support this and the book has the admirable aim of assisting with such training. Undoubtedly, improvement in animal health requires understanding the underlying principles of disease as well as the individual disease specifics.
