Charity speaks out against ‘designer’ cats

FELINE charity International Cat Care is delighted by the recent national media focus on so-called ‘designer’ cats, and the health issues that can be associated with them.

The coverage kicked off with a report on ‘munchkin’ cats in The Mail on Sunday on January 29. These cats have shortened legs as a result of a genetic mutation and cannot run or jump properly. Kittens homozygous for the mutation often die before birth.
