Colleagues at APHA write: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charlotte Featherstone.
Charlotte Featherstone (née Garrett) was born in Northern Ireland on November 12, 1975. She graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2000 with a VetMB and a Masters in Zoology. As a student, Charlotte was serious and completely dedicated to her studies. During her time at university, Charlotte joined the Tropical Biology Association, formed to build the capacity of conservation scientists and institutions in tropical regions to manage and safeguard biodiversity for the long term. Through the association, Charlotte travelled to Naivasha in Kenya as part of her elective year. This experience influenced her greatly. Here she recognised the interactions between people and animals and this inspired her passion to understand zoonotic diseases and developed into a commitment to share information, teach, inspire and help others.
