Raising awareness of the need for One Health interactions

Statistics from

VETERINARY and medical organisations across the world came together on November 3 to mark the inaugural One Health Day, coordinated jointly by the One Health Commission, the One Health Initiative Autonomous pro bono Team and the One Health Platform. The aim of the day was to raise global awareness of the need for One Health interactions, by engaging individuals from different fields in One Health education and awareness events, and to encourage new One Health projects around the world. More than 130 events in 37 countries had been planned, according to the One Health Commission.

In a joint statement to mark One Health Day, the World Veterinary Association and the World Medical Association highlighted their collaboration on issues such as zoonotic diseases, responsible use of antimicrobials, and education, clinical care and public health. …
