THE leaders of countries belonging to the United Nations (UN) have endorsed a concerted One Health approach to addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

At a meeting in New York on September 21, the UN's 193 member states agreed to a number of actions outlined in a draft political declaration, committing to developing multisectoral national action plans on AMR in line with the World Health Organization's (WHO's) global action plan on the issue.
