THE British Veterinary Poultry Association (BVPA) would like to recognise the concerns the past-presidents of the BVPA expressed in their letter to Veterinary Record about the welfare code for meat and breeding chickens (VR, April 23, 2016, vol 178, p 425) and also fully acknowledge the efforts of BVPA members and the British Poultry Council (BPC) in developing draft industry welfare guidance.
