FIVE beavers were re-released onto a Devon river on March 23 having tested negative for Echinococcus multilocularis.
The animals – four adults and a juvenile – had been humanely trapped by the APHA in February and taken to a specialist facility in Devon where they were tested for a range of diseases, including bovine TB as well as E multilocularis. The testing was undertaken by vets and scientists from the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
