Microchipping of dogs to be made compulsory in Scotland

THE Scottish Government announced on March 4 that it intends to change the law and require all dogs in Scotland to be microchipped. The change is due to come into force in April 2016, the same time that microchipping of dogs will become compulsory in England and Wales. Microchipping has been compulsory in Northern Ireland since April 1, 2012.
