ON September 11, 2013, Charles Tempest McCrea, MRCVS, of 5A Manor Gardens, Kirbymoorside, York, North Yorkshire. Mr McCrea qualified from Dublin in 1946.

Robert John Higgins and Christopher John Randall write: Terry McCrea was born in 1920 in Hay, Herefordshire, the son of an Irish veterinary surgeon. After a Quaker education at Ackworth School in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, he began his veterinary studies at University College Dublin. These were interrupted when he volunteered for war service, initially as a wireless operator in tanks but later transferring to the Veterinary Corps, where he attended to donkeys, mules and guard dogs in Italy. Following demobilisation, his final year of veterinary training was completed at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.
