Licence issued for pilot badger cull in Gloucestershire

Statistics from

NATURAL England this week issued a licence permitting the control of badgers in West Gloucestershire for the purpose of preventing the spread of bovine TB.

The licence was issued on September 17, a few days after the Badger Trust lost its appeal against a High Court ruling earlier this summer that Defra's plans for a pilot cull of badgers to help control bovine TB were legal (VR, August 18, 2012, vol 171, p 163).
