THE AHVLA reported on February 7 that Schmallenberg virus (SBV) had been confirmed in a further 22 submissions, bringing the total number of cases confirmed in Great Britain to 33. Nearly all of the cases were in sheep, but the disease had also been confirmed in a cattle submission from West Sussex – the first positive bovine case in the UK.
