LAST November, Christianne Glossop, the Chief Veterinary Officer for Wales, wrote to the Association of Show and Agriculture Organisations (ASAO), on behalf of the UK's chief veterinary officers, to raise awareness of the issue of ‘teat sealing’, which was being practised on lactating cows for cosmetic purposes at the Dairy Event held at the NEC Birmingham and at other events during the 2011 show season.
