Officers' diary

The BVA officer team's activities in the week ending December 25 included the following:

  • The officers, RCVS representatives and the UK Chief Veterinary Officer met with the president of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe, the president of the Syndicat National de Vétérinaires d’Exercice Libéral and a representative of the French state veterinary service to discuss issues of mutual interest, including the proposed EU Animal Health Law.

  • The officers met with the chairman and other secretariat of the RCVS Guide to Professional Conduct Working Party to discuss the proposed RCVS Code of Professional Conduct and supporting secondary guidance.

  • The officers met with the vice-president of the National Farmers' Union to discuss current issues. Topics discussed included the Animal Health and Welfare Board for England, the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency and TB testing.

  • The President took part in the first meeting of the EU Animal Health Law Core Group for the UK, via telephone.
