Assessing pet owners' attitudes to pain

PET owners may perceive the risks of side effects from pain-relieving medications to be much greater than they actually are, according to the results of a recent survey.

Conducted on behalf of Vétoquinol, the survey asked 1048 dog owners about their attitudes to pain in their pets and their thoughts on choice of long-term medication. The company suggests that the findings ‘provide food for thought for all vets and nurses’.
