A NEW director has been appointed to the Institute for Animal Health (IAH). John Fazakerley (right) will take up his new role on June 1.
Professor Fazakerley graduated from Durham University with a degree in animal and plant physiology. He then studied for a PhD in arbovirus encephalitis at St Thomas' Hospital Medical School and undertook postdoctoral work on bunyaviruses at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in the USA. He is currently Professor of Virology at the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, and group leader and head of the Roslin Arbovirus Group at the Roslin Institute.
