BVA Congress highlights

Statistics from

2011 is World Veterinary Year in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the world's first veterinary school, in Lyon in 1761. It has also just seen an official declaration that rinderpest has been eradicated worldwide. The BVA will celebrate this monumental achievement at its Congress in September when Peter Roeder, who helped coordinate the Global Rinderpest Eradication Programme from 2000 to 2007, will give the plenary Wooldridge Memorial Lecture on how vets can contribute to disease control on a global scale.
