A NEW multicentre animal welfare study involving 10 research institutes in nine different countries is to be led by the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC).

The four-year study, which aims to develop practical, science-based, easy-to-recognise indicators of animal welfare, has received £3.8 million of European funding and is closely tied to SAC welfare research funded by the Scottish Government.
