Pilot programme to help farmers learn about BVD

TWENTY farmers in the Ripon/Nidderdale area of North Yorkshire are to receive training in effective methods of controlling bovine viral diarrhoea (BVD) thanks to a new programme being piloted in the area.

The training programme, which will run throughout 2011, is being delivered by EBLEX, the beef and lamb levy payers organisation in England, and DairyCo, a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, in partnership with RAFT Solutions, a training, research and breeding services company associated with Bishopton Veterinary Group in Ripon.
