Disease outbreaks and private vets: bva's concerns regarding contingency plans


This year's bva Congress was held in Belfast from September 27 to 29 to help mark the centenary celebrations of one of its territorial divisions, the North of Ireland Veterinary Association. In addition to the traditional contentious issues debates, a varied programme of cpd had been organised by a number of the Association's specialist divisions. With the ongoing foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in Surrey and confirmation of further cases of bluetongue in East Anglia, infectious diseases were key topics of discussion in both political and clinical sessions.
