Peer-reviewed research papers and short communications in Veterinary Record are published continuously online. The full, definitive versions of articles that have been accepted for publication appear on this website, while the weekly print journal contains detailed summaries provided by the author(s).
Papers and short communications appearing on this page have been accepted for publication after peer review, and have been copyedited, typeset and approved by the authors. Each has a unique doi number and is the definitive publication for citation and indexing purposes. Please use this doi number when referring to articles.
Summaries of papers and short communications are included in the print journal as soon as possible after the full versions have been published online. Once an article has been summarised in a print issue it is removed from this page and stored with that issue in the Veterinary Record archive
The summaries in the print journal follow a standard format, which aims to provide the key findings in a concise, readable and easily assimilable form. Each gives the title of the paper and author details, as well as the doi number which links to full paper online. Combining print and online publishing in this way allows Veterinary Record to publish research findings more quickly, while making them accessible to a wider professional readership.
