Alasdair Hotston Moore has been appointed a group veterinary adviser at Independent Vetcare (IVC), with a particular role in developing referral services within the group. This will involve combining a teaching role with referral surgery at Vale Referrals, Dursley in Gloucestershire. He has been a member of IVC’s clinical board and served on its learning and development team, known as IVC Academy. He provides onsite education at the group’s practices, including practical teaching for new graduates, refresher sessions in general surgery and keyhole surgery. He was appointed a fellow of the RCVS in 2017.
Eva Rioja Garcia has been appointed head of anaesthesia in a newly created role at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in Winchester, Hampshire. Her role will be to focus on expanding the department to ensure 24-hour cover, seven days a week, for all anaesthesia services including outpatient pain clinics. She has been a boarded anaesthetist since 2009 and previously spent four years as senior lecturer in anaesthesia at Liverpool university.
She says: ‘I am delighted to join this excellent team of professionals, they are a great group of people. I am looking forward to the challenge and to leading the department into the next phase of its exciting development.’
