The government has said it will seek to agree a ‘continued system’ for the mutual recognition of vets’ professional qualifications as part of the UK’s future relationship with the EU.
The RCVS welcomed the intention, saying the UK needs access to overseas-qualified graduates and that those from ‘quality assured’ EU schools should have priority in a post-Brexit environment.
The government made its comments in response to a report, Brexit: Trade in Food, published by the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee earlier this year.
