IN their recent article in Veterinary Record, Robertson and others (2017) compared farmers' knowledge of badger activity on their farms with matched data from ecological surveys. They concluded that farmer knowledge of badger activity is generally sufficient but that on average they tended to underestimate slightly. In Northern Ireland, two separate studies were conducted previously one of the aims of which was to evaluate farmers' knowledge in relation to badger activity on their farm.
