IN tribute to Andrew Frederick Starnes (VR, January 21, 2017, vol 180, p 76) Steve Blowey, Lloyd Gatward and Christine Howe write: Andrew Starnes was born on March 14, 1951, in Sussex and was brought up on the family farm. His fascination with the attendance of the local farm vets led him to the Royal Veterinary College via night school and working at Burroughs Welcome Laboratories, Frant; he graduated in 1976.
