Mental health initiatives are encouraging vets to reach out

INITIATIVES to tackle the profession's mental health issues, stress and suicide risk, are behind a surge in calls to a dedicated helpline, say supporters.

Vetlife Helpline says an increase in contacts by more than 400 per cent over two years shows that vets, nurses and students now find it easier to talk about their problems.
