THE RSPCA investigated more than 400 allegations of animal cruelty every day in 2016 – a rise of nearly 5 per cent on the previous 12 months.
According to the charity's annual cruelty statistics, released last week, nearly 150,000 complaints were investigated in 2016, and calls to its 24-hour cruelty hotline rose by nearly 4 per cent.
