WE read with interest the letter from Andy Cage and colleagues in last week's Veterinary Record (March 25, 2017, vol 180, p 309).
The Kennel Club is open to constructive criticism, particularly when it comes to as important an issue as dog health and we welcome the opportunity to discuss the work being carried out in this area.
We are a strong leader in dog health but recognise that there are some areas that still need work. The Kennel Club is made up of people passionate about improving dog health, including a number of vets, which is why we put more resources into dog health than any other organisation and are continuously monitoring, through The Kennel Club breed watch scheme, points of concern in breeds that need to be tackled.
