I FEEL a certain kinship with the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Anaesthesia and Analgesia as we started our ‘careers’ at about the same time and the discipline (and hopefully my knowledge) has advanced over the past 17 or so years. While treating acute pain in patients was a key concern during my residency, the concept of a clinic for patients with chronic pain was a pipe dream back then.
