ALL vets and poultry keepers in the UK are being encouraged to remain vigilant for signs of avian influenza, and to heed biosecurity advice from Defra, following confirmation of an outbreak of H5N8 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in turkeys at a premises near Louth, Lincolnshire, on December 16.
