Avian influenza Prevention Zone declared

A PREVENTION zone requiring enhanced biosecurity for poultry and captive birds has been introduced across Great Britain. Defra announced a zone covering England on December 6; it is also being applied in Scotland and Wales. The zone has been introduced as a precautionary measure following outbreaks of H5N8 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) across Europe. It will remain in place for 30 days.
