WE wish to report several cases of lameness associated with circumferential foreign body lesions around the distal limb of one cow and several sheep on separate holdings.
An adult cow had a one-month history of lameness in the right hindlimb, which was treated by the farmer but was unresponsive to a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and several courses of penicillin and oxytetracycline.
