AS veterinarians with a focus on the welfare of wild animals, we were pleased to see the launch of the BVA's animal welfare strategy document (VR, February 6, 2016, vol 178, p 128; February 13, 2016, vol 178, pp 153-154). Under the leadership of the current President, the BVA is taking a strong position promoting the veterinary profession as providers of visible leadership on animal welfare.
