VMD assesses the implications of colistin resistance in UK pigs

THE Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) says it is working closely with Public Health England, the Department of Health and the Food Standards Agency to assess the implications of the finding of a gene conferring resistance to the antibiotic colistin in bacteria from pigs in the UK.
