Sean Wensley, the BVA President, writes: BVA acknowledges the concerns raised in the letter from past-presidents of the British Veterinary Poultry Association (BVPA), and similar discussions were held at the BVA Council meeting on April 13. However, far from setting back the cause of animal welfare, we feel our actions have held Defra to account on an important animal welfare issue in which the profession has a strong interest.
