A WESTERN lowland gorilla has been born at Bristol Zoo Gardens after an emergency caesarean procedure involving medics from a nearby hospital. The baby female gorilla, which is yet to be named and weighed just over a kilogram at birth on February 12, was the first gorilla to be born by caesarean at the zoo, and one of only a few cases around the world.
