TWO animal charities are calling for a government review of the exotic pet trade following their investigation of the numbers and types of exotic species available to buy online.
Publishing a report of their investigation on November 4, the Born Free Foundation and the Blue Cross said that they wanted to see legislation surrounding the sales of exotic pets brought up to date. They expressed concern for the health and welfare of the animals available to inexperienced owners as well as for the safety of the public.
