THE BVA has expressed its disappointment at reports that the Government has decided to continue using controlled shooting as a culling method in the two pilot badger culls being conducted in Somerset and Gloucestershire.
The BVA's Council recently decided that the Association should withdraw its support for the use of controlled shooting on the grounds that it had not been demonstrated conclusively that this culling method was humane or effective (VR, April 25, 2015, vol 176, p 423).
