RESEARCHERS and veterinary clinicians from the University of Liverpool have launched a research programme exploring horse owners' understanding and experiences of equine health.
The current study, funded and supported by the Animal Welfare Foundation (of the BVA), is inviting horse owners to participate in a questionnaire to share their views and experiences of equine health and disease with a particular focus on laminitis. All horse owners/carers are invited to take part; we aim to hear a wide range of views, regardless of their previous experience with laminitis.
An online questionnaire has been developed to collect information on equine health management from horse owners. Even if the horse has never been unwell, we would like to hear from the owner. Colleagues could help by:
Posting a link to the project on their practice webpage, Facebook or Twitter.
Passing information about the study to horse-owning clients.
Displaying a poster in the practice or an item in their practice newsletter. (We can supply images or text, please contact us using the details below.)
All responses will be anonymous and kept confidential. The Horse Health study homepage and questionnaire can be found at www.liv.ac.uk/equine/owners/horsehealthstudy. Alternatively, colleagues can contact Claire Scantlebury at the address below.
