IN tribute to Christopher John Baxter (VR, April 25, 2015, vol 176, p 443), Colin Baxter writes: Chris Baxter came from a long line of veterinary surgeons. Both his father and paternal grandfather were vets, and, on his mother's side, the Hudson family from Retford in Nottinghamshire can be traced back as vets as far as the 1840s. Both of his brothers also became veterinary surgeons. After attending Bloxham School he studied at the Royal Veterinary College in London and Streatley, and qualified in 1955.
