IN tribute to Angus Campbell David Bayvel (VR, April 18, 2015, vol 176, p 419), Judy MacArthur Clark, David Mellor, Gardner Murray, David Pritchard, Joe Anzuino and Nigel Gibbens write: David Bayvel was a remarkable veterinary surgeon, whose passion for his profession enhanced the reputation of veterinarians throughout the world, most notably in the field of animal welfare. His intense interest in all those he met and his uncanny ability to recognise their hidden talents inspired us all.

Born in 1944, David attended Allan Glen's School in Glasgow. He received his degrees from both Glasgow and Edinburgh universities.
