ON May 25, Huw Davey, BVetMed, MRCVS, of 4 Llys ty Mawr, Treoes, Mid Glamorgan. Mr Davey qualified from London in 1980.

Philip Geddes writes: Huw Davey was the senior partner at Maes Glas Veterinary Group, an 18-vet mixed practice, based in Bridgend, south Wales. He had a special interest in cattle and was happiest when working on farms and regaling the farmers, many of whom were old friends, with sound veterinary advice or whatever humorous anecdote he had dreamed up for the day. Veterinary surgery was a vocation and passion for Huw, which developed as a child, inspired by watching his father, Tom, a partner at the same practice.

Huw was born in Bridgend in 1955 and educated at Bridgend Boys Grammar School between 1966 and 1975. He entered the Royal Veterinary College in London and qualified in 1980, obtaining distinctions in surgery and medicine in his final year.
